| Twenty four years of experience in Research and Development work on Rubber Technology and Waste Treatment Technology, of which last 5 years as a research manager in the capacity of Deputy Director Research (Technology). The effluent treatment technique he developed has won several international awards as well as few local awards. He is a visiting lecturer in many universities in Sri Lanka on rubber technology and waste treatment technology. |

| Plant Pathologist by profession and took over the Additional Director post after 30 years contribution to the fields of plant protection and soil microbiology as a research leader. Author of more than 150 publications most of which have been published in leading national and international journals. New world records on pathogenicity of rubber diseases of recent origin, first disease records on the rubber tree, protocols to manage deadly diseases, activities to protect the Asian & African territories from unwanted exotic pests and discoveries to understand the biology of common pathogens are some of his significant contributions towards a healthier rubber world. |
| Over 30 presentations have been made in international forums in Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, India, China, Cambodia, Vietnam, Brazil, Sri Lanka and Myanmar targeting Plant Protectionists and Breeders in addition to enormous training programmes conducted for Sri Lankan stakeholders. |
| His present ambition is to upgrade the knowledge of scientists in the field of Plant Protection and undertaking disease surveillance in underprivileged member countries of the IRRDB. |
